Savio will join Manchester City in July and work with Pep Guardiola during the preseason.
Manchester City have strengthened their star-studded attacking line by adding Girona forward Savio on a pre-contract basis. This means that Savio will stay at Girona until the end of the season and then move to Manchester.
This season has been a revolution for Girona, as the team has gone from finishing in the middle of the table every year to being a serious contender for the title.
The Brazilian has been in incredible form for the La Liga team, scoring five goals and dishing out seven assists. He is currently the leading assist provider in the Spanish League.
Girona has been amazing this season, defeating FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid and coming extremely close to defeating Real Madrid, despite dominating Real with deadly counterattacks.
Girona’s surge this season has elevated them to the status of a serious title contender, with Real Madrid and them locked in a two-horse battle for La Liga 2023–24.
Pep Guardiola’s latest signing Savio has a strong chance of making the starting XI next season, thanks to his scorching pace and dribbling ability.
This may raise some concerns about Jack Grealish’s ability to operate alone on the left side, and while the Englishman has found his rhythm in the last year, he will need to enhance his game to keep others on the bench.
