Serge Gnabry might prevent him from playing for Germany in Euro 2024 and rest of the season with hamstring injury.

Serge Gnabry set to miss EURO 2024 with Muscle Injury

Serge Gnabry will miss the rest of the season after damaging his hamstring in Wednesday’s Champions League semi-final second leg against Real Madrid, which forced him to leave the field after 27 minutes. This follows an evaluation by the club’s medical department.

Bayern Munich were eliminated from the Champions League semi-finals on Wednesday evening, losing 4-3 on aggregate to Real Madrid. However, while after the game criticism was placed on the referees as well as Manuel Neuer’s error, there was another factor that contributed to their departure.

Injuries have hampered Bayern’s season. Throughout the season, Der Rekordmeister has dealt with injuries to Neuer, Matthijs de Ligt, Kingsley Coman, Leroy Sané, and others.

Serge Gnabry, on the other hand, has been plagued by chronic fitness difficulties more than anyone else, and the German international was forced to leave the game against Los Blancos midway through the first half due to a muscle ailment.

Serge Gnabry Injury Update

According to Bayern, Gnabry has a ruptured muscle bundle in his left thigh and will miss the rest of the season.

Nonetheless, with EURO 2024 only a month away, Gnabry could lose out on a home European Championship with Germany. While it is unclear how long the 28-year-old will be out, it is believed that a typical return date for an injury of this sort is four to five weeks.

In addition, Gnabry has been afflicted by muscular issues since December, implying that his recovery period may be prolonged. As a result, while the Bayern winger may be able to return, he will only be allowed to do so if Germany advances to the tournament’s later rounds, which means Julian Nagelsmann may have to plan without Gnabry.
