Southampton rejected Liverpool's offer for Romeo Lavia

Liverpool made an opening bid of £34 million plus £4 million in add-ons for Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia last week; the Saints want £50 million for the midfielder, who has four years left on his contract. Liverpool are examining other options, including Fluminense’s Andre.

Liverpool have rejected Southampton’s increased bid for Romeo Lavia, and Jurgen Klopp’s side are also looking into a trade for Fluminense’s Andre if Saints’ valuation for their teenage midfielder stays high.

According to Sky Sports News, the revised offer from the Merseysiders was still less than the first £40 million, with Saints demanding £50 million for the Belgian international.

The overall package is closer to the asking price, but if a deal cannot be done, Liverpool is examining other possibilities, including Andre.

Lavia, who is also Chelsea’s target, is eager on a move to Anfield. But personal terms with both teams are not likely to be an issue.

Lavia has four years left on his Southampton deal after arriving from Manchester City last summer. He is set to leave after the Saints were relegated from the Premier League at the end of last season.

Southampton wants more than £50 million for the Belgian Midfielder

Jurgen Klopp has already signed two new midfielders this summer. He signed Alexis MacAllister from Brighton for £35 million and Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig for £60 million.

These newcomers have replaced departing midfielders James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Naby Keita, while captain Jordan Henderson and Brazil international Fabinho have recently transferred to the Saudi Pro League.

Southampton reject Liverpool’s increased transfer approach for midfielder Romeo Lavia. The Reds look into a deal for Fluminense’s Andre Silva.
