Spurs (Tottenham Hotspur) are likely to demand around £88 million for Harry Kane this summer. Manchester United is competing with Paris Saint-Germain for his signature.
Spurs will, of course, want to keep their all-time leading goal scorer. They might have to sell him as contract talks are at a standstill right now.
Indeed, while Tottenham was able to fend off interest from Manchester City two years ago, keeping Kane this summer may prove more difficult.
It’s no secret that the England captain is desperate to win a major trophy before the end of his career, something that hasn’t been possible at Spurs thus far.
It also appears unlikely that the North London club will compete in the Champions League next season, increasing the likelihood of Kane’s departure.
The 29-year-old doesn’t want not sign a new contract until Tottenham appoints a new manager.
Meanwhile, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have increased their pursuit of Kane, so the chance to win trophies elsewhere could turn his head.
Spurs slap £88 million price tag on Kane
Tottenham will demand £88 million for Kane this summer. Although this is still a substantial sum, it is significantly less than the £100 million Man City allegedly offered for him in 2021.
As previously stated, this comes amid strong interest from both Man UTD and PSG. Spurs will have to fight to keep their star player.
Erik ten Hag is looking for a new center-forward and good attacker. Kane and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen are at the top of his shortlist.
Marcus Rashford has been in fantastic form this season, scoring 27 goals in all competitions.
Rashford cannot, however, do it alone if Manchester United is to once again be a perennial title contender. Also, Kane has the power to transform them into a much stronger attacking force.
However, PSG will need offensive reinforcements now that Lionel Messi is expected to leave Parc des Princes, and given the resources at their disposal, they might be able to match Spurs’ £88 million asking price.
Kane has 25 goals and four assists in 42 appearances across all competitions this season. It is an impressive average of 0.69 goal contributions per game.
Because of this, the prolific striker is anticipated to be pursued by both Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
It is uncertain whether Kane will extend his deal with Tottenham before then.
