Thomas Kaminski has earned the coveted Castrol Save of the Season title after making a spectacular double save to deny Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze and Jeffrey Schlupp in November 2023.

The Luton goalkeeper guided his team to their first Premier League victory of the season in November, producing many superb saves against Crystal Palace.

Two of them occurred in rapid succession, with Kaminski saving a deflected effort from Eze and a quick follow-up strike from Schlupp from the edge of the box while the scores remained equal at 0-0.

Luton eventually won the game 2-1, due to second-half goals from Teden Mengi and Jacob Brown.

Speaking about the saves in November, Kaminski said: “It actually went fairly quickly; it was a shot from Eze from beyond the box that deflected off of Tom Lockyer, and Schlupp got the rebound.

“I believe it was an unforgettable experience because the entire stadium was singing my name. It was a great feeling.

“It’s something I’ve been advised in training: don’t enjoy your save; instead, stand up as swiftly as possible. It also kept us in the game at that point, allowing us to score points.”

Kaminski earned the title over Liverpool’s Alisson Becker, Chelsea’s Robert Sanchez, West Ham United’s Alphonse Areola, Sheffield United’s Wes Foderingham, and Everton’s Jordan Pickford.
