Trevoh Chalobah, a Chelsea defender, is ‘undergoing a medical’ ahead of a move to European powerhouse Bayern Munich.
Chalobah made 34 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions last season, but he has been extensively linked with a transfer elsewhere this summer.
The 24-year-old has yet to play for the Blues this season, but it has lately been stated that he is a ‘priority’ target for Bayern Munich.
Chelsea are “expecting a £50m fee” for Chalobah, according to journalist Ben Jacobs, while Bayern “want to sign” him.
“Chelsea will be very busy with outgoings right up until the transfer window shuts,” Jacobs told Caught Offside.
“Bayern want to sign Trevoh Chalobah, who is unlikely to play much if he stays at Chelsea.” The German champions have previously had a loan bid turned down and are currently negotiating.
“Chelsea wants a permanent sale and expects a fee of £50 million.” If a deal for Chalobah cannot be reached, Bayern will look at Southampton’s Armel Bella-Kotchap.”
According to a separate source from Football Insider, Chalobah is ‘undergoing a medical at Bayern Munich’ and the transaction is nearing completion. ‘The Bundesliga heavyweights have signed a deal with the Blues and are set to recruit Chalobah on an initial loan with the option to buy,’ according to the report.
Trevoh Chalobah interested to join the Bundesliga Champions
Chalobah is likely to rejoin with former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel at Bayern Munich, and Conor Gallagher could follow him out of Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea, according to Jacobs, “will listen to offers around the £50m mark” for the England midfielder.
“Conor Gallagher also faces an uncertain future, but he has been playing for Chelsea under Mauricio Pochettino and is content to stay and fight for his place,” Jacobs continued.
“Bayern, West Ham, and Tottenham have all shown interest in Gallagher at various points during the transfer window.” Everton and Newcastle were also historically interested, but are no longer active.
“Brighton really likes Gallagher, but not his wages, which is why nothing has happened so far.” Chelsea will consider offers around the £50 million level.
“Romelu Lukaku is another Chelsea player who is on his way out. After a prolonged and complex drama involving Inter Milan and Juventus, he is headed to Rome today to finalize his season-long loan.
“From what I understand, the fee is £8 million (higher than reported), and Lukaku is more than halving his salary.” Chelsea has also included a €45 million release clause in his deal. This has always been the minimum for a permanent sale.”
