Real Madrid’s official website has been updated, officially declaring that Vinicius Junior will wear number 7 next season while Rodrygo Goes will wear number 11. New signing Fran Garcia made his entrance with the number 20.

Following the departures of Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio, both 7 and 11 were available. Vinicius and Rodrygo are the team’s most prominent attackers at the moment, thus it seems to reason that they were given the opportunity to wear them.

It would be fascinating to see what number Jude Bellingham is assigned once his deal with Real Madrid is officially announced, which should happen soon. Karim Benzema’s number 9 is also available currently, but it should go to whoever replaces him in the starting lineup next season, since Madrid still has to acquire someone for that position.

Real Madrid made the correct move by putting Vinicius and Rodrygo in positions 7 and 11.

Vinicius Junior to be Real Madrid’s new number 7, Rodrygo to take number 11

Vinicius Junior replaces Eden Hazard as the new number seven, while Rodrygo replaces Marco Asensio as the new number eleven.

Vini Jr. is ready to replace Eden Hazard as Real Madrid’s new number seven for the 2023-23 season. The 22-year-old enjoyed another fantastic season for the Los Blancos in 2022-23, growing as the team’s attacking focal point despite an injury-plagued year for striker Karim Benzema.

Vini Jr. is currently wearing the number 20 on the back of his shirt. However, for the following season, he and his Brazilian teammate Rodrygo plan to change their shirt numbers. Rodrygo will wear number eleven, a shirt previously Marco Asensio wore, while Vinicius Junior will wear number seven.

Football journalist Fabrizio Romano stated this. He tweeted, “Vinicius Jnior has changed his number as he will wear number 7 next season. New shirt number also for Rodrygo who will wear number 11 beginning in July.”

Returning to Real Madrid, the 14-time UCL champions recently concluded a blockbuster deal with German club Borussia Dortmund to recruit English midfielder Jude Bellingham for a record €103 million price plus incentives. Real Madrid also confirmed the return of midfielder Brahim Daz and left-back Fran Garcia, in addition to Bellingham.

Brahim Daz was on loan at AC Milan for three years before joining Real Madrid in January 2019. He has previously won one League and one Spanish Super Cup with the squad in Spain. He won those titles before being leaving Spain for AC Milan in September 2020 as a Loan Player.

Diaz won the Serie A Scudetto and advanced to the Champions League semifinals this season. Fran Garcia, on the other hand, returns to Real Madrid following a three-year stay with Rayo Vallecano, where he appeared in 72 games and established as one of the league’s finest young defenders.
