Vinicius Junior has been out of the Real Madrid lineup after suffering a hamstring injury against Celta Vigo on matchday three. Fortunately for Los Blancos, the initial penalty was just for six weeks. However, he is now back on track.
The international player from Brazil is about to rejoin the starting lineup. He is back in light training with Real Madrid, and according to head coach Carlo Ancelotti, he has a possibility to play against fierce rivals Atletico Madrid this weekend (via Relevo).
“He is one of the world’s best strikers and he makes a difference in our lives. We miss him, but he’ll play against Las Palmas on Wednesday. Let’s see if he can make it on Sunday.”
Vinicius is without a doubt one of Real Madrid’s most important players. They have maintained their perfect record in his absence, although they have struggled in attack, with Jude Bellingham being relied on for the most part.
Real Madrid would benefit greatly from having Vinicius Junior back against Atletico Madrid. However, they will be mindful of jeopardizing his rehabilitation, therefore he may miss out in order to be totally healthy for the Las Palmas match.
