Zlatan Ibrahimovic looks set to leave AC Milan after four years with the Italian Giants.
After returning to the club in 2019, the legendary Swedish striker has scored 37 goals in 78 games for the club and helped them win the Serie A title in 2022.
He previously won the Scudetto with the club in 2011, as well as three with archrivals Inter.
Zlatan, who is now 41, has only made four appearances this season due to injuries, and Milan appears unwilling to keep him on staff.
When his current contract expires in the summer, the club reportedly has no plans to extend it to their striker, according to reports in Foot Mercato.
Additionally, they claim that if the forward decides to continue playing, Monza, who are presently 13th in Serie A, would be interested in signing him.
One of the most illustrious goal-scoring careers in European football would come to an end if he did decide to retire.
Since making his club debut in 1999 with Malmo of Sweden, Zlatan has scored 511 goals in 866 matches for clubs from seven different nations.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic plans to part ways with AC Milan
Although he is famous for never winning the Champions League, the striker did win the Europa League with Manchester United in 2017. He has won a whopping 14 league titles.
Zlatan has received 11 Ballon d’Or nominations and ranks as Sweden’s all-time leading goal scorer.
Although it’s unclear how much of a role he will play in the remaining games of Milan’s season, there is still much at stake.
Napoli leads Lazio by 16 points and Milan is four points behind them in the race for the championship, but they are still in contention for the Champions League.
On Wednesday, Stefano Pioli’s team will compete in a European quarterfinal against the Serie A champions.
