ANGERS SCO SACKED GERALD BATICLE

November 24, 2022

Angers SCO has announced the termination of manager Gérald Baticle, with the team now suffering at the bottom of Ligue 1.

SCO ANGERS SCO: GERALD BATICE, it’s OVER!

The story is over!

The Angers defeat in Lille (1-0) on Sunday November 13th, the final day of Ligue 1 before the international break, was too much for Gérald Baticle. ‘Said Chabane‘, the president of Angers, has chosen to part company with his coach after officially retaining his confidence in him for a long period. The president also reported that he would continue the season regardless of the results. The club announced on social media that the individual in question has been “laid off, as a precaution.”

Baticle learned about the sentencing during a meeting with President Sad Chabane the day before, on Wednesday, November 23. Baticle had been in office since the summer of 2021, at the age of 53. He pay the price for his team’s terrible start to the season. That includes 11 defeats, two ties, and only two wins. Angers is still still on a losing streak of seven games.

The club has announced that Abdel Bouhazama will serve as interim manager until further notice. Abdel is currently the director of the training center. This is the first time Chabane has seperated with a trainer while training. On the other hand, he is the seventh Ligue 1 coach to be fired this season, following Peter Bosz in Lyon, Michel Der Zakarian in Brest, Jean-Marc Furlan in Auxerre, Oscar Garcia in Reims, Olivier Dall’Oglio in Montpellier, and Bruno Irles in Troyes.
