Aston Villa have agreed a loan deal with Galatasaray for Italy international Nicolo Zaniolo.

Villa have offered the offensive midfielder a loan fee of £3 million with an option to buy for about £19 million.

Unai Emery’s team is closing in on a deal for the 24-year-old, only months after completing his move to Turkey.

Importantly, Villa sporting director Monchi knows Zaniolo, having signed him during his time at Roma, and is spearheading efforts to re-sign him.

Zaniolo impressed for Galatasaray last season, scoring five goals in 11 Super Lig games. He is, however, slated to leave soon.

Between 2018 and 2023, he appeared in 94 games for Roma until becoming surplus to requirements due to a rift in his relationship with the club.

As a result, he was transferred to his present side, who are willing to let him leave.

Zaniolo can play throughout the frontline, giving Emery a variety of tactical options, though he prefers to operate on the left or as a second striker.

Emi Buendia will miss several months due to an ACL injury, so Villa is considering signing him as a replacement.

They started the Premier League season with a 4-1 loss at Newcastle.

Aston Villa are closing in on the loan signing of Nicolo Zaniolo from Galatasaray, with the club providing a £3 million price and an option to buy… as they seek to replace the injured Emi Buendia, who suffered an ACL injury.

Galatasaray boss, Okan Buruk has not ruled out a summer move for Nicolo Zaniolo, with Aston Villa ‘coming in’ on the signing.

Fabrizio Romano revealed last week that Zaniolo is a “concrete” target for the Villans.

The Italian international only joined Galatasaray from AS Roma in January, but he is already being linked with a move elsewhere.

He made 128 games for the Serie A giants in four and a half years, winning the Europa Conference League for the first time in 2022.

Unai Emery, the head coach of Aston Villa, said last Friday that he is interested in signing the Galatasaray attacker.

“Zaniolo is a midfielder, not a striker.” He is adaptable. He can play as a No. 7 or No. 10 and is one of those on our list with the characteristics he possesses to assist us. “He’s on our list, and there are others,” Emery remarked (Tuttomercatoweb quotes).

And, despite the fact that Zaniolo is one of Galatasaray’s most essential players, head coach Buruk has stated that every player has a price.

Buruk said, “Many of our players are being target.”
“One of them is Nicolo.” If there are favorable conditions for the club to sell, the club will assess the situation.

“I’m focused on my work.” We’re doing our best with the players who are fighting on the field instead of going.”

According to Fabrizio Romano, Villa are getting closer to signing the 24-year-old.

On Monday evening, Romano announced on Twitter, “here we go soon.”
