The 23-year-old joined Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2022. He has made 87 appearances for the club, scoring 81 goals and assisting 15 times.

Haaland contributed to Pep Guardiola’s Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League victories during his inaugural season at Etihad Stadium.

The attacker has been in excellent form for Manchester City this season, scoring 29 goals. He has also provided six assists in 34 appearances, and he might lead the team to another triple this season.

Haaland has three years remaining on his contract with Guardiola’s side, but there has been discussion over his future in recent months, with Real Madrid rumored to be interested in bringing him to La Liga in the not-too-distant future.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona is also interested in signing him and plans to make an offer in summer 2025.

According to the source, the La Liga giants wanted to sign Haaland in the summer of 2022. However, the financial concerns prevented the transaction from being completed.

The Blaugrana instead recruited Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich, and the Poland international has 53 goals and 17 assists in 85 appearances for the Catalan club in all competitions.

Lewandowski’s contract is set to expire in June 2026, but there are reports that the 35-year-old may leave next summer, potentially completing his career in Saudi Arabia, and Haaland appears to be the ideal successor for the La Liga giants.

Barcelona is allegedly confident that they will be able to sign Haaland next summer as their financial situation improves.

The Norwegian international’s current deal is thought to include a €200 million (£171 million) release clause.

Manchester City are apparently looking to sign Haaland to a new deal. Nonetheless, the forward is said to have a great ambition to play in La Liga in the near future.

The forward was sidelined by a foot injury from the end of 2023 to the beginning of 2024. However, he made a comeback at the end of January.

Haaland has 18 Premier League goals this season and six in seven Champions League matches, as the Citizens prepare to face Real Madrid in the competition’s quarter-finals.
