Despite Bayern Munich’s 3-0 loss against Bayer Leverkusen, CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen has indicated that Thomas Tuchel’s job is safe.

Xabi Alonso’s team delivered a strong performance, keeping them top of the Bundesliga, five points ahead of Bayern Munich.

Tuchel was under pressure leading up to the match, with many feeling that anything less than a win would jeopardize his career.

However, Bayern Munich CEO Dressen has downplayed speculation about Tuchel’s future, admitting that the German champions deserved to lose.

‘Nothing changed,’ Dressen told BILD. ‘We anticipated it would be a difficult game. We would have preferred a different result. We’re concentrate on the next games.

“I don’t like to repeat myself (about Tuchel’s future); it remains as I just said.”

Fans were perplexed when Thomas Tuchel decided to change his system heading into the game.

To match his opponents, the former Chelsea manager returned to the formation he used at Stamford Bridge, starting with a back three.

However, the choice backfired, as the German has since been chastised for introducing a new system for the first time this season.

When asked about the tactical adjustment, Dressen declined to comment.

He stated, ‘I don’t want to guess too much about the lineup.

Leverkusen was simply better. We deserved to lose; we simply had to accept it.

‘Fortunately, we still have 13 match days remaining and will hope for one or two mistakes from Leverkusen.’

Tuchel had already dismissed speculation that he would be replaced by Stuttgart manager Sebastian Hoeness at the end of the season.

However, with Bayern Munich underperforming in the league, the head coach could face even more criticism by the end of the season.

This is despite the German champions falling 3-0 to Bayer Leverkusen.
