Ben White, an Arsenal defender, has apparently been awarded a new-long-term contract.

Ben White has signed a new Arsenal contract

Since joining the Emirates for £50 million in the summer of 2021, the 26-year-old has established himself as a regular part of Mikel Arteta’s defence.

This season, he has made 39 appearances in all competitions, playing an important role in their bid to capture their first Premier League title in two decades.

According to The Athletic, White has signed a new, better long-term contract with the league leaders.

His previous contract was slated to expire in 2026, but his signing is expected to be officially revealed before the end of the week.

White had been in conversation with the Gunners for several months about improved conditions, and those talks were thought to have ended positively.

Having previously played as a centre-back for Brighton, he has impressed as a right-back this season to accommodate Arsenal’s starting center partnership of William Saliba and Gabriel.

When asked about White’s contract situation earlier this season, Arteta stated: “We are always trying to keep the squad in a healthy position in any way, and the club and Edu in particular are working on that.”

White has made 121 appearances for the Gunners since joining from Brighton.

The Gunners have an extended gap until their next match after the international break.

After rising to the top of the table over the weekend, they will have a strong challenge when they travel to Manchester City on March 31.

Ben White pens a new deal with the club, committing to his long-term future here

White’s climb to the top has not been easy. After playing in all four divisions of English football with Newport County, Peterborough, Leeds, and Brighton in his early career, the 26-year-old is now relieved to have found a more stable home.

“I have been on loan three times, I have been places for a year,” he was quoted as saying. “I believe this is the first time I’ve decided not to travel during the summer. Being here is incredible, and I’d love to stay [for many years].”

The England international’s new deal maintains Arsenal’s great run, allowing them to keep their most essential talent.
