Bernardo Silva decided to leave the Premier League champions this summer to complete his long-awaited move to Barcelona.

Bernardo has been questioning Portugal teammate Joao Feliz about life at Barcelona and wants to weat the historic No. 10 shirt perviously worn by Lionel Messi.

The City star was expected to join Barcelona in 2022 before speculation increased again last summer.

Talk of a move to Catalunya died down after Bernardo extended his contract until 2026 in August, albeit ithas since emerged that his deal has a £50 million release clause.

Now that the summer transfer window is nearing and Felix has revealed the truth, the Portuguese powerhouse is claimed to be eager to finally join Barcelona.

According to Catalan outlet Sport, Bernardo is ‘passionate’ about joining the La Liga giants and believes  his time at City is up, despite having made 42 appearances this season.

Barcelona manager Xavi launched talks with the 29-year-old a year ago, but the move fell through.

This week, Xavi reversed his plan to leave Barcelona at the end of the season, and Bernardo would have plenty of teammates in the dressing room. They include former City teammates Ilkay Gundogan and Joao Cancelo, as well as Felix.

Felix wants Bernardo Silva to join Barcelona

Cancelo and Felix may only be on loan, but Bernardo has been able to quiz them about life in and around the city. During a recent interview with Jijantes, Felix revealed: “His sister-in-law is here, and he’s asked me about how things are here, the weather, tax concerns… I assured him it was fine for him to come.

The Atletico Madrid loanee went on to remark, “If I were Deco (Barcelona’s sporting director), I would definitely sign Bernardo Silva. Have you watched him play? He’s even better in person. He is from the Cancelo generation. Now, players live until they are 35-36 years old. [But] I do not believe Manchester City will make it easy.

“I would bring him for €50 million (£43 million), and he is worth €60-70 million (£51 million to £60 million). He would prefer to wear the number 10. It’s a highly essential number in the club; you can’t just give it to everyone; you must exercise caution. “It is my favorite number, but I’ve never worn it.”

Guardiola has reportedly vowed not to stand in Bernardo’s way if the ex-Benfica and Monaco ace shows a wish to quit City after seven years, and his contract was signed with that understanding.
