Borussia Dortmund appears to prefer having Jadon Sancho return on loan from Manchester United this summer over signing him permanently.

Borussia Dortmund 'not willing to sign Sancho permanently'

The 23-year-old returned to Dortmund on loan in January, and in his second term, he has made eight appearances for the German club, assisting twice.

As it stands, Sancho will return to Manchester United this summer, with two years remaining on his deal with the 20-time English champions.

Borussia Dortmund are reportedly not aiming re-sign Jadon Sancho permanently this summer

According to the report, BVB has no plans to re-sign Sancho permanently this summer and will instead seek another loan contract for the 2024-25 season.

There may be an opportunity to make the move permanent at the conclusion of next season, but Manchester United are unlikely to consent to another loan unless there is an obligation to acquire him.

Sancho came off the bench in Manchester United’s first three Premier League games, against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Tottenham Hotspur, and Nottingham Forest.

However, he was a noteworthy missing against Arsenal in early September, with Ten Hag suggesting that the forward was left out due to poor training performances.

Sancho moved to social media to insist that this was not the case, alleging that he had been made “a scapegoat,” resulting in the breakup of his relationship with Ten Hag.

After seemingly refusing to apologise, the attacker was dropped from the first-team at Old Trafford, and he returned to Dortmund in the winter transfer window.

Sancho has struggled to make an impact at Manchester United, scoring 12 goals and providing six assists in 82 games since joining from Dortmund in the summer of 2021.

The forward has yet to play a single match for BVB since his return to the German club, although he has started each of their previous three Bundesliga games, as well as the team’s 1-1 tie with PSV Eindhoven in the first leg of their last-16 Champions League encounter on February 20.
