Brighton has turned down a new £70 million offer from Arsenal for midfielder Moises Caicedo.

The summer transfer window set to close on Tuesday. Thus, Brighton are determined that they would not sell the midfielder in January.

Despite two offers from Arsenal in the past week and the player’s ostensible transfer desire, their stance will not change.

The 21-year-signing old’s would have broken the Seagulls’ previous club record transfer of £60 million when Marc Cucurella was sold to Chelsea in the summer, had they accepted Arsenal’s most recent bid.

Caicedo pleaded with Brighton to allow him to go and join the Premier League leaders in a statement on social media after the Gunners’ original £60 million offer for the player was turned down.

Caicedo was told he couldn’t practice with the Seagulls until after Tuesday’s transfer deadline. Despite telling Brighton’s official website just last week that he was only interested in his current team.

Leandro Trossard already made the move from Brighton to Arsenal during this transfer window for a reported £27 million.

Due to worries about the depth of the team, a possible long-term injury to Mohamed Elneny. Arsenal is looking for a new midfielder due to a new fitness worry over Thomas Partey. Partey was replaced at halftime during Friday’s FA Cup loss at Manchester City.
