Chelsea FC 'Closing In' On Andrey Santos

Chelsea FC are reportedly close to agreeing to sign Andrey Santos from Vasco da Gama.

Chelsea‘s model of bringing talented young players to Stamford Bridge is set to continue. According to reports from Wednesday, the Blues are nearing a deal with Vasco da Gama in Brazil for Andrey Santos.

The agreement is being finalized between the two parties for an undisclosed fee. Santos will join Chelsea ahead of other Premier League clubs such as Manchester United and Newcastle United.

Personal terms have not yet been agreed upon but are not expected to be an issue. Santos is playing as a midfielder. That is a position in desperate need given the uncertainty surrounding many of Chelsea‘s current midfielders.

The 18-year-old is also a Brazilian international, having played at both the under-16 and under-20 levels.

It is unclear whether Santos will join Chelsea in January or stay in Brazil for the rest of the season, but an announcement is almost certainly on the way.
