Crystal Palace are close to signing the Japan midfielder Daichi Kamada on a free transfer from Lazio.
The Eagles are stepping up their summer hiring drive. Kamada previously worked with Palace manager Oliver Glasner at Eintracht Frankfurt, where the two of them won the Europa League in 2022.
Palace are also close to signing 20-year-old Morocco centre-back Chadi Riad for £14 million from Barcelona.
After retaining sports director Dougie Freedman despite interest from Newcastle, Palace are moving on with plans to strengthen their team for next season.
They are also considering a transfer for Jude Bellingham’s younger brother, Jobe, who plays for Sunderland.
