England announce the squad for the Men’s T20 World Cup 2024

On Tuesday, April 30, England, the 2022 winners, announced their roster for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.

Jofra Archer has been named to England’s squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, making his return to international cricket after more than a year.

His last England appearance was in March 2023. He has since been recovering from an elbow injury that has kept him out for more than a year.

Archer’s path back has not been easy; he has faced various hardships since 2021. Those include stress fractures, chronic elbow problems, and even surgery as a result of a bizarre fish tank incident.

Despite his recent absence from England’s starting lineup, seasoned all-rounder Chris Jordan has also been named to the squad, with his last international game coming in September 2023.

Among the batsmen, Jos Buttler will head the defending champions, with Will Jacks, Phil Salt, and Jonny Bairstow among the top-order possibilities. Ben Duckett and veteran all-rounder Moeen Ali will add some left-handed diversity to the squad.

Harry Brook, Liam Livingstone, and Sam Curran will give the club’s lower-order firepower.

Adil Rashid, on the other hand, will lead the spin attack alongside Tom Hartley.
