In Kicker’s annual survey, 252 Bundesliga players voted anonymously.
Manchester City striker Erling Haaland became the best offensive player in the world for the 2022/23 season with 52% of the vote. Kevin de Bruyne finished second, while Kylian Mbappé finished third.
On the eve of home Euro 2024, 63.9% of Bundesliga players polled do not regard the German national team to be the tournament’s favorite – it is worth mentioning that the polling was conducted before to the national team’s June fixtures. Furthermore, 57% of respondents are concerned that Bundesliga clubs are losing their competitiveness in European play.
Haaland scored 52 goals in all competitions for Manchester City in 53 appearances last season, becoming the club’s and Europe’s best scorer.
