FC Porto defeats Sporting in extra time to win the Portuguese Cup.
Mehdi Taremi scored a penalty kick in extra time to help the Dragons defeat 10-man Sporting CP 2-1 in the Portuguese Cup on Sunday.
It was Porto’s third Cup title in a row and 20th overall.
Jerry St. Juste gave Sporting the lead with a header in the 20th minute, but was sent off with a straight red card in the 29th, five minutes after the Blue and whites equalized through Evanilson.
Sporting won the Portuguese league this season, finishing 10 points ahead of Benfica and 18 points ahead of FC Porto.
