Fede Valverde, the Real Madrid central midfielder, has turned down offers from Premier League clubs to stay in the Spanish capital.
Valverde, 25, has emerged as an important element of Real Madrid’s midfield in recent years, scoring in Real’s 2-1 comeback victory over Real Sociedad at the Santiago Bernabeu yesterday.
Fede Valverde has agreed to a long-term contract extension with Real Madrid.
And, speaking after his team’s fifth consecutive victory, which returned them to the top of La Liga last night, the Uruguayan international said he had turned down offers from the Premier League to stay at Real.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the box-to-box midfielder is currently only interested in playing for the Meringues, adding, “Premier League offers? I am capable of playing for Real Madrid. When I don’t feel like that, I’ll either look for another answer or Real will look for one for me.”
