Germany to sign new deal with Nike from 2027 swapping Adidas.

Germany will swap Adidas for Nike in 2027

Today, the DFB made a shocking announcement: Nike will become Germany’s new kit maker beginning in 2027.

The American sports brand will manufacture Germany’s uniforms from 2027 to 2034. Regarding the new collaboration, DFB president Bernd Neuendorf stated, “We are looking forward to working with Nike and the trust placed in us. The future collaboration will allow the DFB to carry out key responsibilities in the coming decade to ensure the entire development of football in Germany. But it is also evident that by December 2026, we will be committed to our shared success with our long-standing and present partner Adidas, to whom German football owes a great deal for over seven decades.”

The new agreement will come to an end a connection with Adidas that had lasted more than 70 years by the time the new contract expired. Except for the 1966 and 1970 World Cups, the sports firm from Herzogenarach, just outside of Nürnberg, has produced Germany’s kits since 1954, with the national team also often using the campus at the Adidas headquarters for training ahead of big tournaments.

The decision to go with Nike is surprising given that Germany is home to two of the world’s largest sports brands, Adidas and Puma, as well as the aforementioned long-standing relationship with the German national team.
