Harry Kane is reportedly open to extending his contract with Tottenham.

The England captain is in the final 18 months of his contract, and there are growing doubts about his long-term future at the club.

Kane is obviously eager to win a major trophy with Tottenham after a dreadful 15-year drought.

With the north Londoners, he has lost three finals, including the Champions League final against Liverpool in 2019.

Tottenham are in a difficult situation with Kane because they may feel compelled to sell their prized asset during the summer transfer window or risk losing him for nothing in 2024.

Manchester City attempted to sign the 29-year-old in the summer of 2021, but have since added Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland.

With City no longer showing interest, Kane is strongly in link for a move to Manchester United.

After signing Wout Weghorst on loan until the end of the season, the Red Devils are expecting to sign a new striker in the summer.

Weghorst is a capable stopgap, but Erik ten Hag recognizes the importance of a long-term No. 9, and Kane could be the man. United are also said to be interested in Napoli striker Victor Osimhen and RB Salzburg midfielder Benjamin Sesko.

In a blow to United, The Athletic correspondent David Ornstein claims that Kane is ‘open’ to extending his stay at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Discussions about a new contract have been postponed due to a “lack of opportunities” in recent months, owing to a hectic schedule at both club and international levels.

Furthermore, the winter transfer window is currently open, and Tottenham manager Antonio Conte is eager to strengthen his squad.

Harry Kane contract extension news

Kane and the club will begin talks next month, according to Ornstein.

Kane is ‘open’ to signing a new Spurs contract if the circumstances are right.

Time is running out for Kane to win some silverware, so Spurs’ finish to the season is critical, even though the club is still in the FA Cup and Champions League.

‘Recruitment and prospects of success are sure to be key factors,’ as well, with the 29-year-old clearly motivated to stay and win things with his boyhood club, but realizing that this will simply not happen.

Kane is currently focusing on club success and has no plans to leave. But if Spurs fail to win a trophy and a new deal is unlikely to appear in the upcoming months.

Despite interest from Manchester United and Bayern Munich, Kane’s representatives are telling to have no “serious discussions” about a transfer.

While Spurs fans wait to see what happens with Kane, the club’s head coach Conte’s contract expires at the end of the season, though there is an option to extend, according to the report.
