From Asia Qualifier, two teams were set to qualify for the mega event. Oman and Nepal have punched their tickets to the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 in the United States and the West Indies.

Nepal reached their target of 135 runs in 17.1 overs, losing only two wickets. Aasif Sheikh led the chase with an unbeaten 63 runs.

In his 50-ball inning, Sheikh hit six fours and two sixes. Rohit Paudel also contributed significantly. He scored the winning runs and finished with 21-ball 35 runs. Gulshan Jha scored 22 runs, while Kushal Bhurtel scored 11.

Nepal had previously limited UAE to 134 runs in the first inning. After a strong bowling performance from the home team, UAE finished their 20 overs at 134/9.

Choosing to bat first at Mulpani Cricket Ground, UAE got off to a fast start thanks to Muhammad Waseem’s early attack. However, Sompal Kami shifted the momentum in Nepal’s favor by getting a run out and removing the dangerous Waseem (for 26 runs) in the fourth over.

After both openers left, Nepal took control of the game. Vriitya Aravind led off the inning but was removed when it came time for the fireworks. He scored 64 runs off 51 balls before being caught in the final over.

Nepal’s bowler of choice was Kushal Malla, who took three wickets and finished with a figure of 3-0-11-3. Sandeep Lamichhane was also excellent with the ball, producing a figure of 4-1-14-2.
