Ilkay Gundogan has been named Germany’s national team captain. Head coach Hansi Flick made this decision. Joshua Kimmich was appointed vice captain.
“I chose to give Gundogan the captain’s armband. We now have a leadership team with Kimmich. I’m delighted we made this choice. It also provides us with extra energy,” Flick explained.
Flick named Gundogan captain of Germany and Kimmich vice captain.
