Jean Claude Blanc, CEO of PSG will leave the Ligue 1 leaders to become CEO of INEOS Sport, starting in February 2023, in the most high-profile change in the world of French football executives in a decade.

JEAN-CLAUDE BLANC LEAVES PSG TO JOIN INEOS SPORT AS CEO

Jean-Claude Blanc, CEO of PSG will leave the Ligue 1 leaders to become CEO of INEOS Sport, starting in February 2023, in the most high-profile change in the world of French football executives in a decade.

Blanc will be responsible for managing the whole INEOS Sport portfolio, which includes sailing, cycling, rugby, football, formula one, and running. The development of INEOS’s current investments in the Mercedes F1 team, OGC Nice, FC Lausanne-Sport, Racing Club d’Abidjan, the INEOS Grenadiers cycling team, and the company’s sponsorships of the British Challenge for the 37th America’s Cup, the All Blacks rugby team, and the Eliud Kipchoge running team will be Blanc’s main focus.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the creator and owner of INEOS, stated the following regarding the transition:

“With his extensive background in numerous sports, I’m very happy to welcome Jean-Claude as CEO of INEOS Sport. We have high expectations for each of our sports teams, with the goal of improving our football standards in particular, and Jean-Claude will infuse each of our teams with an inventive and entrepreneurial spirit.

What Jean-Claude Blanc said was as follows:

“It is an honor and a privilege for me to work alongside Jim Ratcliffe and the amazing INEOS leadership team. I’m excited to contribute to the formation and continued success of the current sport executive teams.

Blanc has a wealth of expertise in sports management, having served as CEO of Juventus from 2009 and 2011, before accepting the same post at PSG under the then-new Qatari ownership, which he has held for 12 years.

Regarding Blanc’s departure, PSG President Nasser Al Khelaifi stated the following:

“We warmly congratulate Jean-Claude for his outstanding contributions to Paris Saint-history Germain’s and success over a long period of time. The Club has grown significantly throughout this time. The newly appointed management team, which will be made public in due course. And that will be in an excellent position to advance the Club.
