Felix flies to London for Chelsea Medical

admin

Joao Felix is flying to London to finish his move to Chelsea.

Felix has flown to London to have a medical with Chelsea ahead of a loan move until the end of the season.

The Blues will pay a €11 million (£9.69 million) loan fee plus his wages in order to sign the Portugal forward ahead of Premier League rivals Manchester United and Arsenal.

Joao Felix would give head coach Graham Potter’s attacking options a much-needed boost, with his team scoring just 20 goals in 17 Premier League games this season.

Despite the fact that the transfer window has only been open for a little more than a week, Chelsea has already been busy in January, signing Benoit Badiashile, David Datro Fofana, and Andrey Santos.

Potter will be hoping that their arrivals will help his team’s form, as they have only won one of their last seven matches in all competitions.

Chelsea are currently ten points outside the top four in the Premier League. They are already out of the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

The only realistic remaining hope for silverware for the west London club this season is in the Champions League, where they will face Borussia Dortmund in the last 16 next month.

Felix previous match stats

Felix has only made seven LaLiga starts for Atletico this season, but he was named to the starting XI for their 1-0 loss to Barcelona at home on Sunday.

However, due to his strained relationship with manager Diego Simeone, the LaLiga club are willing to let Felix, who has five goals and three assists in all competitions this season, leave on loan in January.

In 2019, the 23-year-old joined Atletico Madrid from Benfica in a €126 million (£111 million) deal.
