RC Lens has extended the contract of French center-back Jonathan Gradit. The former Tours and Caen defender agreed to a two-year extension with Lens, tying him to the club until 2026. Gradit joins strikers Florian Sotoca and Wesley Sad, as well as defenders Facundo Medina and Deiver Machado, as the latest Sang-et-Or player to sign a long-term contract. Gradit, a former Bordeaux youth product, was a late bloomer. At the age of 21, he signed his first professional contract with Tours. He then moved to Caen in 2018 before relocating to Lens in 2019. The following year, he assisted the northern side in gaining promotion.
Jonathan Gradit has played sixteen of a possible 21 Ligue 1 games this season after suffering a broken collarbone in September. He had two assists for Franck Haise’s third-placed team. Lens fell to Nice in their first home game of the season on Wednesday, and Les Sang-et-Or travel to Brest this weekend for Ligue 1 gameweek 22.
