Jose Mourinho Former Real Madrid manager has apparently been mentioned as a possible replacement to Carlo Ancelotti should he depart the club at the end of the season.
The Portuguese arrived to the Bernabeu in the summer of 2010 after winning the Champions League with Inter Milan, and the now 60-year-old spent three years in Madrid.
Mourinho led Los Blancos to a record-breaking number of points ahead of fierce rivals Barcelona in 2011-12, while also winning the Copa del Rey in his first season in command.
The two-time Champions League winner left Real Madrid in disgrace in June 2013 in order to return to the Premier League with Chelsea, having won 128 of his 178 matches as manager.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Mourinho may return to the Bernabeu in the near future, as the Spanish giants are looking for a new head coach.
With current manager Ancelotti’s contract ending at the end of the 2023-24 season, Real are looking into other options should the Italian go.
According to the source, Ancelotti would extend his stay in Madrid if he was handed a contract extension, although it is unclear whether the 13-time European winners will fight for such an arrangement.
The former Everton manager has been heavily connected with the job of Brazil national team manager in 2024, but he has yet to pledge his future to the South American powerhouses.

Mourinho is in Real Madrid’s shortlist of managers for the role of manager if Ancelotti leaves in the summer.
