Kendry Páez breaks record with Ecuador goal

Kendry Páez is the youngest player in Conmebol qualification history, having scored at the age of 16 years and 161 days.

Ecuador’s youngest debutant, as well as the youngest debutant in Conmebol World Cup qualifying.

Chelsea signed Kendry in March, so this appears to be a terrific piece of business.

Chelsea has agreed to sign the youthful midfielder when he becomes 18 years old.

He broke the record at the age of 16 years and 161 days after scoring against Bolivia from a through-ball given by prospective future Blues teammate Moises Caicedo.

He is currently playing for Independiente del Valle in his home country, where he became the youngest début and scorer in Ecuador’s top division earlier this year.
