Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester City has revealed that his recovery from a “serious” hamstring injury is “going very well.”

Kevin De Bruyne Provides Injury Update

Pep Guardiola did not risk Kevin in preseason. He made made his return for the Citizens in their opening Premier League game of the new season against Burnley on August 11.

De Bruyne, who has compared his injured hamstring to a “wet kitchen towel,” is not expected to return until the New Year, but he has provided a reassuring update on his recovery.

“It was a major operation.” “[The recovery] is going very well,” De Bruyne told reporters, according to the Independent. “A major scan will be performed next week, and we will then know how the injury is progressing.”

“In the end, everything is going as planned.” I have not been told when I will be able to play football again. It is critical that I get this injury completely correct.

“There were numerous cracks. Those hamstrings could have ripped at any moment. On paper, it was a wet kitchen towel. Finally, after 700 matches, I had major maintenance performed, similar to what you would do with your car.

“I had been struggling for two months, but I was able to hold on well, and we were able to manage everything with the club.” I was able to make arrangements to arrive on time.

“During the week when I felt my best, my body said enough.” In that (Champions League) final, I was still under a lot of pressure. All of those movements may have widened the crack slightly. But it was all worthwhile.

“I’ve never had anything like this happen to me before. It is a major surgery, and it does not happen very often with a hamstring injury. However, all of the surgeons agreed that an intervention was required.”
