Kylian Mbappe, the forward for Paris Saint-Germain, is said to have no plans to leave the club during the January transfer window.
During the summer transfer window, Mbappe was involved in his latest transfer saga after revealing that he had no plans to extend his current contract beyond the end of the 2023-24 season.
As a result of his stance, Mbappe was barred from playing in the first team during preseason, as PSG considered selling their star striker.
While Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League accepted a world-record bid, Mbappe was hesitant to agree to a summer departure.
Although he was later reintegrated into Luis Enrique’s squad, his future remains a source of much speculation.
With his current contract set to expire in June 2024, PSG may view the January market as one last opportunity to recoup a fee for one of their most valuable assets.
Kylian Mbappe Future
According to L’Equipe, the France international is eager to remain at Parc des Princes during the winter transfer window.
Despite expressing a willingness to stay with PSG for the rest of the season, his long-term future with the club remains uncertain.
The 2018 World Cup winner is still being linked with a move to Real Madrid in the summer of 2024.
While it is expected that Kylian Mbappe will complete his move to the Santiago Bernabeu, he still has the option to exercise a one-year extension in his PSG contract.
The reigning French champions are also negotiating a new contract with the player’s representatives.
Mbappe recently had the opportunity to play alongside his brother Ethan Mbappe after coming off the bench to make his debut in PSG’s recent 3-1 win over Metz.
The 26-year-old has been in excellent form this season, with 21 goals and two assists in 22 appearances across all competitions.
Mbappe has 233 goals and 100 assists in 282 competitive games since joining PSG from Monaco in 2018.
