Kylian Mbappe: PSG slaps €200 million for the French Star

Ligue 1 Giants has slapped a €200 million price tag on Kylian Mbappe after urging him to sign a new deal or leave this summer.

PSG has allegedly slapped a €200 million price tag on Kylian Mbappe after telling him he must either sign an extension or leave.

PSG are keen to avoid losing France captain Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer in 2024, and have given him until the end of the month to activate the one-year extension on his current deal. According to RMC Sport, if he refuses to extend his contract, the Parisians would seek €200 million (£171 million/$217 million) as a transfer fee.

Mbappe, on the other hand, is unwilling to forego the guaranteed income from PSG if he stays in the French capital until 2024, nor is he prepared to sign the contract. Real Madrid, the prime candidate, may face financial difficulties in achieving PSG’s value because they have already bought Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund for €103 million (£88 million/$110 million).

However, as previously reported by L’Equipe, Los Blancos are still interested in acquiring the France international this summer and may match the Ligue 1 winners’ demands. They have already abandoned their chase of Tottenham striker Harry Kane, and with Karim Benzema’s departure to Saudi Arabia, they are seeking for a top-tier attacker.

The Mbappe transfer controversy will continue throughout the summer as both the player and the club maintain their respective positions.

Kylian Mbappe Transfer News: The Saga Continues

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has confirmed that Kylian Mbappe will not be allowed to leave the club on a free transfer next year.

Last year, the 24-year-old appeared to be on his way to Real Madrid, only to reject Carlo Ancelotti’s offer and sign a new two-year contract with the Parc des Princes, with the option of an extra year.

The French champions, on the other hand, were taken aback after receiving a letter from Mbappe indicating that he would not take up the option to extend his contract until 2025, implying that he might walk out the door for free this time next year.
