The Los Angeles Galaxy announced Monday that they have signed homegrown player Jonathan Pérez to a four-year contract extension through 2026, with an option for 2027.

The Galaxy’s 19-year-old winger, who made his debut in 2021, has played in seven matches (two starts) in all official competitions, most notably collecting 128 minutes over three appearances in the 2022 U.S. Open Cup.

He also scored in a 2-0 victory over Chivas de Guadalajara in this year’s Leagues Cup Showcase, which drew a sell-out crowd of 71,189 to SoFi Stadium for the first-ever soccer game.

“We are happy for Jonny to sign a long-term contract to continue his progress at the Galaxy,” said head coach Greg Vanney in a media statement.

“Jonny is a bright and dynamic winger who came through the Galaxy Academy and made an impact at every level.” We look forward to his continued growth and success with the first squad in the coming decades.”

Pérez, a product of the Galaxy junior system, scored 41 goals in over 100 games during his tenure with the club’s youth system. He also has 8 goals and 8 assists in two seasons with the Galaxy II in the USL Championship.

The Pico, California, native has represented Mexico at the U16, U18, U19, and U20 levels, scoring once and assisting twice, the last of which came during the 2022 CONCACAF U-20 Cham
