La Liga TV: Real Madrid overtake Barcelona in La Liga Tv income destrubition

La Liga has released their figures for TV revenue distribution among clubs, and it makes for interesting reading for Florentino Perez.

Real Madrid has made the most money from television rights than any other club in Spain. Los Blancos earned just over €160 million from last season, while Barcelona was less than a million behind on €159 million. Both are down by €2.2m and €5.5m from the previous year.

The distribution of money is based on three factors: base level distribution, capacity to generate resources, and performance.

• Season 21/22
• Official distribution of TV rights in LaLiga

50% of the total is distributed equally among participants, 25% is distributed based on their ability to generate resources, and the remaining quarter is distributed based on pitch results.

Rayo Vallecano, Elche, and RCD Mallorca share the bottom spot for TV rights, earning €45.9 million each, less than three times the amount earned by the top earners.

Real Betis had the highest percentage increase in budget between 2020/21 and 2021/22, with €6 million added (10%). Meanwhile, Athletic Club was the biggest loser (8.25%), losing €6 million from their budget.
