Lazio have been offered the chance to sign Mason Greenwood from Manchester United before the transfer deadline.

Lazio gets offer to sign Mason Greenwood

The 21-year-old will not play for Manchester United again after the club decided to part ways with him after a difficult season.

Greenwood was detained on suspicion of rape and assault in January 2022, following complaints from a lady, and he was later arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and threatening to kilt.

The England international was also facing allegations of attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behavior, and assault causing actual bodily harm, but the charges have since been dropped.

As a result, Greenwood is free to resume his career. It had been assumed that he would return to Old Trafford, but the 20-time English champions just acknowledged that he will go.

Greenwood’s contract, on the other hand, is not being canceled, and it has another two years to run, which means a transfer price will have to be agreed upon, and a loan exit is also a possibility.

Teams from Saudi Arabia are thought to have expressed an early interest in the forward before opting against a move due to the potential damage to their reputation.

Meanwhile, despite reports that a number of Turkish parties were interested in his signature, no real bids are believed to have been made.

Lazio to sign Mason Greenwood from Manchester United?

According to a recent source, Greenwood had only received one offer from an unknown Albanian club.

However, transfer analyst Fabrizio Romano claims that Lazio has been offered the opportunity to capture the Englishman before the transfer deadline.

Romano claims that the Serie A club has yet to make a definitive decision on a potential move.

Greenwood was regarded as one of the top young talents in world football prior to his arrest, and he has played 129 times for Manchester United, scoring 35 goals and registering 12 assists.

In 83 Premier League appearances, the forward has 22 goals and four assists, while he has also scored twice and supplied three assists in 10 Champions League matches.
