Leonardo Bonucci, former Juventus captain will suing the club for alleged professional reputation damage. Bianconeri management notified the 35-year-old that he will not be a part of the club’s plans for the 2023-24 season, leaving him free to find a new team.

The veteran center-back chose to join Union Berlin before the transfer window closed, ending his nearly 10-year affiliation with the Old Lady.

According to Goal Italia, Bonucci has chosen to take Juventus to court and seek monetary damages.

Antonio Conte and Gabriele Zuccheretti, the players’ lawyers, will pursue the legal action specified in the collective agreement. The action seeks compensation for losses allegedly caused by Bonucci’s lack of suitable training and preparation circumstances, a situation that ‘would have caused the athlete professional and image damage.’

Bonucci has stated that any proceeds from this action will be donated to Neuroland, an organization that assists families of children hospitalized in the paediatric neurosurgery department of the Regina Margherita Children’s Hospital in Turin, as well as Live Onlus.
