Dani Carvajal has stated that he wants to continue his career with Real Madrid.
Dani Carvajal, 31, is in his tenth season at Real Madrid and is under contract through the summer of 2025.
“I still have a few years left on my contract, and I’m hoping to retire here,” Carvajal told Marca.”Being at Real Madrid is the best thing for a player, and I believe the moment you have to leave this club is one of the most difficult.”
“It’s complicated, because the profile of player that used to leave was an older one, in the final stretch of his career,” Carvajal said of the desire to play in Saudi Arabia.
“You can see now that they pay huge transfer fees and that the players are younger, possibly promising players… It’s difficult since the wage disparity is enormous. I understand [former Celta Vigo and Al Ahli midfielder] Gabri Veiga because you work for a long time to get a large offer.
“I completely understand him [Veiga], because when I signed a five-year contract with Leverkusen, the first thing I did was buy a house for my parents.”
Because I grew up in a working-class area, I can identify with Gabri’s situation because anything may be jeopardized by an accident or a terrible year.
