U.S. investment firm 777 Partners close to Everton takeover

Everton’s new owners (U.S. investment firm 777 Partners) are on the verge of taking over the club.

The multi-club investors have been in talks with Farhad Moshiri since news broke that MSP Sports Capital, located in New York, had terminated its exclusivity agreement with the Toffees’ primary stakeholder.

The 777 group already owns a number of football clubs, including Hertha Berlin, Sevilla, and Standard Liege. Liege supporters protested the group’s involvement in their last game.

777’s approach would signify a full takeover once all Premier League procedures are satisfied, which may take many months.
