Lewis Miley | Newcastle United have confirmed that the midfielder has signed a new long-term contract with the club.
The 17-year-old is a product of the Magpies’ academy, which he joined when he was seven years old. He worked his way through the youth ranks before making his senior debut under manager Eddie Howe in February last year.
Miley, who made Newcastle’s youngest-ever Premier League debut on the final day of the 2022-23 season away to Chelsea, has since featured regularly for the Magpies this season amidst the club’s injury crisis, making 18 first-team appearances in all competitions.

The Stanley-born starlet became the youngest Newcastle player to record an assist in the Premier League when he set up Alexander Isak for a goal in a 4-1 win over Chelsea in November last year, a month before becoming the youngest English player to record an assist in the Champions League, setting up Joelinton to score in a 2-1 loss to AC Milan.
Just three days later, Miley made history as the club’s youngest Premier League goalscorer in a 3-0 win over Fulham.
Miley’s original contract was set to expire in June 2026. However, the youngster has chosen to commit his future to St James’ Park by signing a new long-term deal.
Miley told the club’s official website after signing his new contract, “It’s a very proud moment for me and my family to sign another professional contract with my boyhood club. I couldn’t be more proud.
“Hopefully, I can continue to do well in the coming years, improve my performance, and grow as a player.
“It’s a real pleasure to perform in front of the fans, especially when they chant my name. Their support means a lot to me and my family, and I’m excited for the future.”
Howe went on to say, “Lewis is an exceptional young talent who has all the qualities to be a significant part of Newcastle United’s journey now and in the future.
“He has already contributed to the team with outstanding performances in extremely difficult circumstances this season.” “We are very excited about what is to come as he continues to develop his game and grow with us.
