Messi made his PSG debut for the first time since leading Argentina to World Cup glory in Qatar.

The Argentina legend shone on his return, assisting on his team’s first goal and scoring in the second half to seal a 2-0 victory.

Messi’s match-worn shirt later put on for a record-breaking €43,623, according to the French news outlet Le Parisien.

Messi’s shirt was one of 18 match-worn shirts for sale, and a Chinese bidder was successful in obtaining Messi’s number 30 jersey.

According to reports, the bidder began at €22,000 and won the shirt with their seventh bid.

Aside from Messi, shirts worn by Neymar and Kylian Mbappe in PSG’s matches against Lens and Strasbourg were also available for purchase.

Although Neymar and Mbappe are both megastars, the prices of their shirts were significantly lower than Messi’s.
