Liverpool vs Luton Town 'Not to be Broadcasted on TV'

Liverpool play Luton in their rescheduled Premier League match on Wednesday night.

However, due to an unusual rule, the tie will not be carried live on television.

The Reds were originally scheduled to host the Hatters at Anfield on Saturday, February 24.

However, due to Jurgen Klopp’s side’s qualification for Sunday’s Carabao Cup final against Chelsea, the Premier League match has to be rescheduled.

The match was moved forward three days to Wednesday night, with a 7.30pm kickoff under the lights on Merseyside.

However, fans will be unable to see the action live on UK television.

This is due to the fact that Sky Sports and TNT Sports did not originally choose the match.

That meant it would be played at 3 p.m. on Saturday, during the national TV football blackout.

As a result, the match cannot be picked up by Sky or TNT because the firms’ Premier League contracts limit the number of matches they may broadcast.

So the game remained untelevised, exactly like Manchester City’s match against Brentford 24 hours earlier, which was moved due to the Treble champions’ participation in the Club World Cup over Christmas.

Liverpool vs Luton Town | English Premier League

Liverpool against Luton will be broadcast on talkSPORT radio.

TNT Sports will broadcast Arsenal’s trip to FC Porto and Napoli’s Champions League match against Barcelona on the same night.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports will broadcast the EFL Trophy semi-final between Bradford City and Wycombe Wanderers live.

Liverpool enters the game against Luton on the heels of a resounding 4-1 victory against Brentford and currently leads the standings.

Mo Salah returns with a goal and an assist in West London.

However, Klopp is concerned about Curtis Jones, Darwin Nunez, and Diogo Jota’s health after they all suffered injuries just eight days before the Carabao Cup final.

Luton remain in the relegation battle, but were unfortunate to lose 2-1 to Manchester United on Sunday, owing to a handful of blunders and Casemiro escaping a red card.
