Erling Haaland equaled Harry Kane’s Premier League record by scoring the key goal in Manchester City’s 1-0 victory over Brentford.

Erling Haaland sets another record

Despite Brentford’s tenacious performance, Haaland’s composed finish in the 71st minute won the victory for City, reigniting their pursuit of a third Premier League crown in a row. With this goal, Erling Haaland joins Kane (32/32) as the only players to have scored against every Premier League team. However, the Norwegian accomplished this milestone in only his second season in England, demonstrating his goal-scoring power and the impact he has had on the English top division since joining from Borussia Dortmund.

Kristoffer Ajer made an unfortunate slip, leaving Haaland with an open path to goal. The 23-year-old maintained his cool to beat Mark Flekken, who had come off his line, for his 22nd goal of the season.

City had 17 shots on goal in the first half, but only five were on target. However, they were more clinical in the second half, keeping six more shots inside the goal frame out of eight tries.

With the victory, City leapfrogs Arsenal into second place, closing the gap to one point behind league leaders Liverpool. Looking ahead, City will look to extend their winning streak when they face Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium, while Brentford will try to recover against West Ham United at the London Stadium.
