Lumbini All-Stars have been crowned the inaugural Nepal T20 League champions. The All-Stars won the title by defeating Biratnagar Super Kings by 24 runs in the final. They will receive a cheque for fifty-five lakh Nepali rupees, while the runner-up, Biratnagar Super Kings, will receive a cheque for thirty lakhs. Meanwhile, Janakpur and Kathmandu will each receive ten lakhs.

Additional Prizes?

The winner of the series will receive five lakh rupees. The tournament’s best batter and bowler will each receive two lakh fifty thousand rupees. The tournament’s emerging player will receive one lakh eighty thousand rupees.

Super Kings were restricted to 109/8 after batting poorly while chasing an average target. Biratnagar got off to a shaky start, falling two wickets early on after losing Gauranshu Sharma and skipper Rohit Paudel. Hussain Talat and Raj Nanan also failed to impress. Arjun Saud then left for 40-ball 34 runs, leaving the batters with a massive task.

Prithu Baskota hit 31 runs off 29 balls, while Bibek Yadav was dismissed for six runs.

Lumbini’s economy was strong thanks to two wickets each from Harmeet Singh and Sagar Dhakal. Kishore Mahato and Bipul Sharma each received one.

Lumbini All-Stars

Lumbini All-Stars had previously been bowled out for 133 in 19.2 overs. Despite a fantastic start, they had to settle for an average total after opting to bat first.

Harmeet Singh and Lahiru Milantha got things going quickly, putting on 64 runs for the first wicket. Harmeet left for 18-ball 30, one ball before the powerplay ended, and was replaced by Kushal Bhurtel in the next over.

Milantha led the All-Stars with 41 runs (28 balls), including three fours and sixes. His dismissal in the tenth over reduced the run rate because Ishan Pandey and Dipendra Singh Airee were unable to capitalize on their good start. They managed only 18 (22 balls) and 20 (23 balls) points, respectively.

Biratnagar’s Nandan Yadav and Raj Nannan each took two wickets. Surya Tamang took one wicket and allowed only eight runs in four overs, bowling 19 dot balls. Aside from him, Rohit Paudel, Keon Joseph, and Hussain Talat each took one.
