Manchester United FC is keeping an eye on VfB Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy.

Manchester United FC eyeing Stuttgart's Guirassy

According to Sky Germany, the 27-year-old Guinea international could leave the German club in January for less than €20 million (£17.25 million).

Guirassy is having a strong season in Germany, scoring 18 goals in 14 appearances across all competitions this season after scoring 14 goals in 29 appearances the previous season.

His goals have propelled Stuttgart to third place in the Bundesliga, one point ahead of Bayern Munich, whom they face on Sunday.

United are looking to bolster their front line in January, with summer signings Rasmus Hojlund and Anthony Martial the only options for Erik ten Hag in the central striker position.

Hojlund has yet to score for the club in the Premier League, and reports suggest that Martial may leave in the summer.

Ten Hag is under increasing pressure after presiding over three defeats in United’s last four games, including Tuesday’s home loss to Bayern Munich, which forced the club to exit Europe.

Man Utd‘s next game is a trip to Liverpool, which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports, and they are huge underdogs to win at Anfield, with Liverpool a point clear at the top of the Premier League – five places and ten points ahead of Ten Hag’s side.

Manchester United FC willing to sign Serhou Guirassy?

Guirassy, a former France youth international, began his professional career with Laval before moving on to Lille and Auxerre.

In 2016, he joined Koln in the Bundesliga before returning to Ligue 1 with Amiens and then Rennes.

Guirassy then returned to the Bundesliga when he was loaned to Stuttgart at the start of the 2022-23 season, after which the German club activated an option to extend the loan.

Guirassy has scored three goals in 12 international appearances for Guinea since his debut in March 2022, and he is expected to be part of their squad for the African Cup of Nations, which begins on January 13 in Ivory Coast.
