Marquinhos 'unlikely to be fit for PSG against OGC Nice'

Marquinhos is unlikely to be present in PSG’s forthcoming Coupe de France quarter-final against Nice on Wednesday.

Paris Saint-Germain is facing OGC Nice on Wednesday in Coupe de France quarter-final.

Since being substituted against Nantes on February 17, the Brazilian international has been out due to an injury. Marquinhos is currently suffering from an Achilles tendon injury that has kept him out of Les Parisiens’ previous four games against Monaco, Rennes, Reims, and Real Sociedad.

PSG hoped to get their captain back for the second leg of the Champions League versus Sociedad. However, after notifying medical staff that he was still feeling discomfort from the injury during their final session before the European match, he was left out.

Despite his injuries, the 29-year-old continues to exercise with his PSG teammates, according to Le Parisien. Nonetheless, with his fitness still in doubt, he is unlikely to play in another match for Paris as they pursue a record treble.

Marquinhos is ‘in question against OGC Nice for Coupe de France Quarter-Final Clash’

It will continue to be without him. Marquinhos is already out against Rennes, Monaco, Real Sociedad, and Reims this weekend, so he has little chance of returning for the Coupe de France quarter-finals against Nice on Wednesday at 9:10 p.m. at the Parc des Princes.

The Parisian captain has been out since February 17 due to an injury in Nantes. He attempted to return for the Champions League round of 16 second leg against Real Sociedad. Nonetheless, he is still experiencing pain in his Achilles tendon, prompting the staff to avoid taking any chances.

“Marquinhos is receiving appropriate treatment for his ongoing Achilles tendon problems. “He will be left to rest for the next few days,” PSG stated in its most recent medical update.

According to multiple bell noises emerging from the Campus, rejoining the group against the Aiglons willbe too close.

PSG will hold a new training session for this Tuesday morning in order to better assess everyone’s level of fitness. Luis Enrique will also have a press conference early in the afternoon (1 p.m.).
