Mathias Zanka Jorgensen has extended his contract with Brentford until the summer of 2025.

Since joining the club as a free agent in September 2021, the Denmark international has made 28 appearances in all competitions, scoring one in a 2-1 loss to Leicester City last season.

“I’m very happy to have Zanka with us for two more years,” head coach Thomas Frank remarked.

“His ability to step into the team and perform at a high level is so impressive, as he has demonstrated in some of our most memorable Premier League victories over Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea.” He is powerful defensively, places himself effectively, and has good ball skills.

“Zanka is also a fantastic person and a fantastic presence on the field and in the locker room.” He has a wealth of experience from playing in many leagues as well as numerous international games. He is quite calm and understands his function within the group.

“I’ve enjoyed working with Zanka over the last two seasons.”
“I’m excited to have him join us on the next stage of our journey.”

Mathias Zanka Jorgensen has made 35 appearances for Denmark and has played for six teams in five countries.

He made his professional debut for Copenhagen in September 2007. After that, he went on to play over 200 games for the club in three different periods.

PSV Eindhoven, Huddersfield Town, Fenerbahce, and Fortuna Dusseldorf are among the clubs he has played for.
