Moises Caicedo Transfer Update: Liverpool and Brighton have agreed a British record fee for midfielder Moises Caicedo.
The cost is thought to be approximately £111 million, with Caicedo scheduled to go to Liverpool for a medical on Friday. The agreement will also include a sell-on clause.
Brighton set a bid deadline of midnight on Thursday, and if their appraisal was met, they would go with the highest bidder.
Liverpool formally presented their application late Thursday night, after Caicedo expressed interest in moving to Anfield.
According to Sky Sports News, they were in talks with Brighton to determine all of the financial conditions of a deal in case Chelsea couldn’t or wouldn’t strike an agreement.
Liverpool was notified just after midnight that they had won the offer. Personal agreements with Caicedo have been agreed upon, and preparations for all transfer formalities are currently underway.
Chelsea reportedly offered £100 million, but Bayern Munich said they would pay £90 million.
